Welcome to the town of Gotse Delchev!
 

After the traditional welcome with geranium and bread and salt, departure for the village of Ognyanovo. On the way visit to the ruins of the ancient Roman town of Nikopolis ad Nestum - an architectural reserve and declared monument of culture with nation-wide importance. Time for rest and entertainment in the Ognyanovo spa resort - you can just walk, have a swim in the hot mineral pools or use some of the balneological procedures. Overnight at the Marchevski Hanove inn*** in the neighbouring village of Marchevo. Dinner in the local tavern, where you will taste some of the delicious Nevrokop specialties and enjoy the show of the Nevrokop Ensemble for folk songs and dances. Enjoy your time!

(Gotse Delchev-Ognyanovo-Marchevo - 13 km)
After breakfast - drive to the village of Dolen through the Western Rhodopes Natural Park. Enjoy the panoramic walk in the architectural reserve of Dolen and the
exhibition of private ethnographic collections. Traditional lunch in the Valentino local restaurant. Departure to the village of Kovachevitsa, dubbed the Bulgarian Hollywood. The entire village is a museum from the National Revival period with specific atmosphere and has been the setting of the most popular Bulgarian films. The sightseeing tour will take you to the local church of St.Nicolas and to the gallery-workshop of the artist Georgi Popov. Later, you will have your afternoon coffee with delicious homemade delicacies in the Kapsazovitsa coffeehouse. (Optional: "Bulgarian Wedding" show, given by the famous folk singer Nikolina Chakardakova and the Nevrokop Ensemble. The booking must be done in advance.) Overnight in the village of Leshten - a unique vacation village for rural tourism***. It is the only of its kind in Bulgaria and includes restored houses with traditional Rhodope architecture and interior design, combining ancient atmosphere with modern comfort. Dinner in the local tavern, where you will taste some traditional hommade specialties. Have a nice time!

(Marchevo-Dolen-Kovachevitsa-Leshten-82 km)
Breakfast and drive to the village of Delchevo, picturesquely situated in the bosom of the Pirin National Park, and the panoramic walk in the architectural reserve. In the town of Gotse Delchev you will have yet another chance to acquaint yourself with the past of the Nevrokop region - visit to the ethnographic museum, where you can see a fashion-show of old folk costumes, demonstration of weaving and exhibition of traditional fabrics, souvenirs and icons made by local artists and craftsmen. Folk style lunch at the Malamova Kashta restaurant. Departure for the town of Bansko - the most rapidly developing Bulgarian winter resort and a main starting point for routs into the Pirin National Park, included in the list of UNESCO. The town has preserved an interesting combination between the virgin nature of the mountain and the atmosphere of the National Revival period. It is a cradle of the famous Bansko Art School also. During the sightseeing tour you will see the most important sites of the architectural reserve: the Holy Trinity church, the icon exhibition Bansko Art School, the Velyanova House as well as the ethnographic exhibition-bazaar. In the neighbouring town of Razlog, famous for organizing the traditional winter Mummers' Festival, you are invited to a Mummer's evening with a traditional dinner and folk songs in the Kipreva Kashta tavern. Overnight at cosy family hotels (**) in the village of Dobrinishte. Have a good rest!

(Leshten-Delchevo-Gotse Delchev-Bansko-Razlog-Dobrinishte-107km)
After breakfast you will visit the unique garden for cultivated edelweiss, the symbol of the Pirin Mountain, and to take away the original souvenir from Bulgaria. Later - you will participate in an adventure tour and photo-safari in the Pirin National Park. You will climb up to Bezbog Lake, one of the most beautiful "crystal eyes" of the mountain, dating back to the Glacier period. The program continues with tasting herb-tea with honey at the foothills of Bezbog Peak (2 645 m) and a forest picnic in the open air. A tour of the Rila National Park to the village of Dobarsko. On the way - sightseeing of the Roman bath and the old "chopuri" (laundry) that are still in use in the village of Banya. In Dobarsko you will visit the St.st. Theodore Thereon and Theodore Stratilat church (1614) - a UNESCO-protected monument of culture with national-wide importance that still well preserves a unique mural painting featuring Jesus Christ in a rocket. The fresco dates back to the time when the word "rocket" was unknown to mankind. A cheerful farewell show will be given to you by the Dobarski Babi folk group. Departure to the town of Velingrad - one of the most famous spa resort in Bulgaria in the heart of the Western Rhodopes Natural Park. Accommodation at the Velina balneological hotel***, located amidst a century-old pine over the Kleptuza protected area. Dinner in the Omar tavern where local culinary and musical surprises are expecting you. Enjoy!

(Dobrinishte-NP Pirin-Banya-Dobarsko-Velingrad- 122 km)
After breakfast you will have some leisure time in the spa, swimming in the hot mineral swimming pool or using the balneological procedures. Lunch in the restaurant of the hotel. Departure for the village of Dorkovo - walk to the Tsepina fortress, one of the most important Bulgarian medieval strongholds in the Rhodope Mountains, a seat of despot Alexy Slav. On the way back you will visit the workshop for handmade carpets and textile art in the village of Kostandovo. There you can see the biggest looms in Europe used for weaving some of the most expensive carpets in the world. The next destination is the village of Sarnitsa. Accommodation at the Iva holiday village** situated on the banks of Dospat Dam in the Orlino resort near Sarnitsa. Farewell dinner - a "hiduck cheverme" (a barbecue party) and a performance of bagpipe players. Enjoy!

(Velingrad-Dorkovo-Kostandovo-Sarnitsa - 83 km)
After breakfast you are invited to a boat trip along the Dospat Dam, angling adventure and fish picnic. Departure for the town of Velingrad with a final stop at the Centre for Business and Information to taste environmentally-friendly products made of wild fruit and herbs. Last opportunity for shopping at the traditional exhibition-bazaar of local crafts and applied arts.
